North Carolina United We DREAM Field Meeting — March 2010
As Trail of DREAMs was getting closer to the final destination, Washington, D.C., we agreed to have representatives from each state be present during their arrival to show support and to be part of the moment. Some organizations participated on the Don’t Deport Dora Campaign as well as citizens/allies civil disobedience. In attempt to highlight college-ready dreamers and graduates, some UWD leaders developed the idea of DREAM University with the motto “If they don’t lets us in their universities we will build our own.” It was a spin off from sending college applications to President Obama and congress members. In addition other leaders participated in the Mother’s day, family come out event as well as highlight Brown v. Board of Education during our actions and how they interrelated to dreamers.
