Immigrant Youth on Jeff Flake’s Immigration Bill: No Thanks.

United We Dream Press Releases

Washington, DC – Yesterday, Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) introduced the Border Security and Deferred Action Recipient Relief Act to protect immigrant youth, but that would also increase border security, fund parts of Trump’s racist and unnecessary wall, as well as harmful interior enforcement.

Greisa Martinez, Advocacy  Director at United We Dream said:

“We have been very clear since Trump killed DACA, we will not accept a deal that uses the protection of  DACA beneficiaries  to terrorize and detain our family and our community. Senator Flake’s effort would  hurt our families so…thanks but no thanks.

“Instead of clouding the field with his bill, Flake should focus on the bipartisan, clean Dream Act. The American people overwhelmingly support immigrant youth and they want to see immigrant youth gain a pathway to citizenship without harmful trade-offs now!”
