As Trump & Congressional Leaders Meet
at White House on Dream Act,
Immigrant Youth Say Delay = Deportation
Washington, DC – Today, congressional leaders are meeting with Trump at the White House to discuss the year-end spending bill and the Dream Act. Immigrant youth and allies are also there to show the leaders and the nation that immigrant youth urgently need a clean Dream Act passed this year without dangerous enforcement add-ons.
Youth are holding giant numbers to demonstrate the 11,304 immigrant youth who have lost their protection from deportation and ability to work since Trump killed DACA.
United We dream members were joined by the amazing leaders of NAKASEC who brought their energy and unforgettable Dream Act holiday carols – calling on leaders to deliver a clean Dream Act by the holidays.
Approximately 122 immigrant youth become vulnerable to Trump’s deportation agents every day and millions more have no DACA protection like 10-year-old Rosa Maria who was dragged to a detention camp after surgery by agents even though she would qualify for the Dream Act.
Youth from across the country are at the White House chanting: “Delay = Deportation;” “I believe that we will win;” and “I am somebody and I deserve full equality!”
