Miami, Florida – This week, nearly 1,500 immigrant youth, families and allies from across the country will convene in Miami for the largest gathering of undocumented youth organized by United We Dream (UWD).
The 2018 United We Dream Congress will be held at the Miami Airport Convention Center from October 5 to 7. This year’s Congress is especially significant and meaningful as UWD marks its 10th Anniversary of empowering immigrant youth and families through organizing and advocacy efforts to ensure all immigrants and people of color can live without fear and thrive.
Over the past decade, UWD has advanced the immigrants’ rights and progressive movement by winning concrete changes in policy like the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, leading the campaign for the Dream Act, and most recently, fighting against Trump’s hateful and racists attacks on immigrants and other marginalized communities.

This three-day gathering will focus on building community, strengthening organizing and leadership skills, and tackling intersectional issues of common concern for immigrants, people of color, women and the LGBTQ community.
Exactly a month before the midterm elections, Miami will be a key area to harness the organizing and civic engagement power of immigrant youth as we look to support progressive wins in Florida.
Speakers and guests will include United We Dream leaders throughout the years, several prominent progressive and movement leaders who are actively shaping the national agenda and the future of politics in this country.
