Washington, DC – Greisa Martinez Rosas, DACA recipient and Deputy Executive Director of United We Dream released the following statement following reports of another death in the hands of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents:
“ICE and CBP agents are in the business of detaining and locking up Black and brown people. They’ve killed another child in pursuit of this mission. Trump and Republicans in Congress are asking for billions more to carry on their monstrous work. This debate is about more than a wall, it’s about people’s lives and it’s about time Congress defunds ICE and CBP.”
United We Dream is the largest immigrant youth-led organization in the nation, a powerful network made up of over 500,000 members, five branches with over 100 affiliate organizations across 28 states. UWD’s vision is to build a multi-racial, multi-ethnic movement of young people who organize and advocate at the local and national levels for the dignity and justice of immigrants and communities of color in the United States.
