A judge in Texas has sided with republicans and ordered the DACA program to be partially ended on July 16th 2021. While new applications will no longer be approved, renewals will continue to move forward. The ruling goes into effect immediately.

Since Trump first tried to kill the program, DACA recipients have lived from court ruling to court ruling and on the whims of racist politicians trying to enact their anti-immigrant agendas.

Hanen’s ruling is evidence that DACA is not enough! The program has always been temporary, leaving hundreds of thousands of lives vulnerable to the next attack.

Democrats in Congress can deliver citizenship for millions of undocumented people NOW! Biden and Democrats in Congress must ensure a pathway to citizenship stays in the reconciliation package before the August recess. The package must protect undocumented people, including DACA recipients, TPS holders, Farmworkers, and Essential Workers.

The only thing that can protect all immigrant youth, TPS holders, farm workers and other essential workers, is a path to citizenship through reconciliation. Until President Biden and Democrats in Congress deliver on citizenship, the lives of millions of undocumented people remain on the line. Democrats must pass a pathway to citizenship this year, no excuses.
