Washington, D.C. – With just days before Donald Trump takes office and unleashes what is expected to be a slate of violent, cruel and destructive attacks on immigrants nationwide, a cohort of immigrant rights organizations, including United We Dream, Make the Road States, The Action Lab and CASA, launched a Solidarity Pledge calling on allies to reject Trump’s mass deportation agenda and be on the side of protecting communities, defending immigrants and keeping families together. The pledge calls on thousands to come together through direct actions, mutual aid, and community-building to resist Trump’s policies of hate and division. Inspired by the civil rights movement, this bold initiative aims to protect the dignity, safety, and futures of immigrants across the country.

Yaritza Mendez, Director of Power to Win Initiatives at The Action Lab, said:
“Trump has promised to carry out the largest domestic deportation in American history. It will be ugly, and it will be cruel. But, our communities are resilient. There are millions who will fight back against injustice. Many tyrants regret the fights they pick, and the President -elect is no different. Immigrants make the United States dynamic and strong. The people who sing this Solidarity Pledge will stand united against hate and will be a light in the face of darkness.”
Theo Oshiro, Co-Executive Director at Make the Road States, said:
“After January 20th immigrant communities will experience attacks we have never seen before. Now, more than ever, we need allies to step up alongside us. We know that only collective power can fight injustice and we need the voices and actions of people around the country who understand that immigrants are a crucial part of our country. Stand with us!”
Bruna Sollod, Senior Political Director of United We Dream, said:
“Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda is nothing new—it’s cruelty repackaged and put into policy, and immigrant communities are prepared to fight back. When Trump went after DACA, separated thousands of children from their parents, and attacked our communities, we didn’t sit on the sidelines. We organized, built power alongside our allies, and activated a movement of everyday, working families and people ready to fight back against Trump and his billionaire cronies baseless and destructive agenda.
“We know what’s possible when we show up for each other. Together, our communities, allies, and leaders have the power to reject and weaken Trump’s agenda, protect people from the cruelty of mass deportations and keep families together. Together with our allies, we’ll send a clear message: immigrants are here to stay.”
Gustavo Torres, Executive Director of CASA, said:
“Our families, our neighbors, and our friends are facing the threat of immigration raids that tear loved ones apart and create fear in the places we call home. Protecting our CASA membership and our community is our first priority – and not just CASA’s. The groundswell of support that’s arisen from our friends and partners and allies warms the heart: we have constructed an immigrant defense coalition of faith communities, businesses, community organizations, donors, elected officials, educators, attorneys, and other people of good – all of whom stand ready to act with us. We’re going to turn this moment into a movement to advocate for change that will outlast this presidential term.”
