Home is Here: With Parole in Place Applications Now Open, Nearly Half a Million Immigrants & Their Families Prepare for Life-Changing Relief

Contact: press@unitedwedream.org

Washington, D.C. —Following President Biden’s historic executive order in June that expanded access to the Parole in Place (PIP) program for as many as half a million undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens and 50,000 of their step-children, yesterday applications for the program are now officially open! We encourage all eligible individuals –including the estimated 90,000 eligible DACA recipients– to apply now.

For more information on Parole in Place eligibility, please visit here.

The Home Is Here Coalition — representing 100+ organizations across the country — released the following statement:

“Our communities will forever remember the historic day DACA applications officially opened. It was a day that signaled the beginning of life-changing relief for hundreds of thousands of immigrant young people across the country. This week, the Home is Here coalition welcomes yet another unforgettable occasion made possible by the fearless organizing of immigrant communities that fought to build off the successes of DACA and win more protections for our people.

President Biden’s new Keeping Families Together Parole in Place is a step towards finally doing away with punitive measures built into our immigration system that have prevented many from accessing vital protections they need and deserve. The new Keeping Families Together Parole in Place will ensure hundreds of thousands of undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens who have fallen in love, gotten married, and built their families in the U.S. have the opportunity to apply for work authorization, protection from deportation, and a possible pathway for adjustment of status without having to leave the country, their homes and their loved ones for an indefinite period of time. We are eager to ensure anyone and everyone who is eligible applies.

We also urge the White House and Congress to see this as an opportunity to continue delivering even more expansive relief for millions of other undocumented residents who call the U.S. home. We must continue simplifying our country’s immigration system to be fair, efficient, and inclusive to all.”

This March marks 21 years of ICE CBP & DHS terrorizing our immigrant communities.

Ever since their creation, ICE and CBP have targeted, detained, abused and deported immigrants while separating loved ones and tearing apart communities. Donate 21 dollars to help us fight back against the 21 years of terror.
