San Francisco, California – United We Dream member Maricela was interviewed by her local Telemundo station about the horror of her son’s deportation by the Biden administration. Her son, Angel, suffered three years in detention under the Trump administration where he was separated from his family, including his three young children. He was deported in 2021 shortly after President Biden’s inauguration. The interview comes after  Maricela’s in-depth Medium piece detailing Angel’s story.

You can watch Maricela’s full interview here!

Maricela is telling her story to demand that legislators pass the proposed law, Assembly Bill 937, which would protect immigrant communities by clearly prohibiting law enforcement in California from transferring people to ICE.

Since Biden took office, over 2 million people have been deported and expelled.. Biden holds the power to deliver on his promise to protect millions of immigrants by ending deportations, expulsions, and immigrant detention. People like Maricela are pushing to hold him accountable to his promises!

This March marks 21 years of ICE CBP & DHS terrorizing our immigrant communities.

Ever since their creation, ICE and CBP have targeted, detained, abused and deported immigrants while separating loved ones and tearing apart communities. Donate 21 dollars to help us fight back against the 21 years of terror.
