Washington, D.C. — Today, the Home is Here campaign welcomed the re-introduction of the American Dream and Promise Act of 2025 in the House of Representatives. This legislation would create a pathway to citizenship for certain DACA recipients, immigrant youth, and some individuals with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or Deferred Enforced Departure (DED), potentially protecting over five million people across the country.
For years, undocumented immigrants have fiercely led a movement to advocate and push lawmakers for a pathway to citizenship that they deserve. Amidst the escalating and intensifying attacks on the immigrant community, including relentless efforts from anti-immigrant politicians and allies of the Trump Administration to end the DACA program, this bill puts forward an affirmative policy solution, giving policymakers and advocates something to fight for and something that the overwhelming majority of Americans strongly support. The Dream & Promise Act would provide long overdue relief to millions of undocumented people who consider this country home, ensure that mixed-status families can stay together, and allow Members of Congress an opportunity to advance genuine solutions that set themselves apart from the rising vitriol and anti-immigrant agenda.
