No Matter How Hard He Tries, President Biden Will Never Appease The Anti-Immigrant Right

Washington, D.C. – Late last night, a Trump-appointed Federal Judge in Florida blocked the Biden Administration from using parole options and allowing families into the country to wait for their court date to be scheduled.

Juliana Macedo do Nascimento, Deputy Director of Federal Advocacy of United We Dream, said:

“President Biden is doing Republican’s job for them by continuing to push immigration policies that limit the freedom to move. Even as he introduced his cruel new rule — a ban on asylum he denounced during the campaign — a Trump appointed judge has blocked a parole program that would help some people seeking asylum. The truth is that if Biden is going hardline on immigration to appease those on the right, they will never be satisfied until all immigration into the country by Black and brown people is stopped. That’s their goal, and every step President Biden takes to limit asylum, to limit the freedom to move, brings the anti-immigrant movement closer to that goal. On the contrary, we need President Biden to reverse course with his harmful policies and respect the right of people to move and seek safety in our country.”
