Vote No on Violence and Harm: Congress Must Reject Senate Proposal

Contact: press@unitedwedream.org

Washington, D.C. —  A bipartisan group in the Senate is negotiating a supplemental funding bill that includes money to increase ICE and CBP’s deportation power, to continue attacks by the Israeli military and policy changes to deny people’s right to seek asylum.

Juliana Macedo do Nascimento, Deputy Director of Federal Advocacy at United We Dream said:

“Immigrants are not political pawns and cannot be held as ransom for MAGA politicians’ extreme and inhumane proposals. Congress must vote against harm by way of both money and policy in this proposed Senate supplemental funding bill.

The supplemental bill should be focused on funding and not extreme policy changes that deny people their rights. With proper allocation of funds, we can treat and welcome people with dignity both within our borders and abroad without increased militarization. We call on Congress to immediately reject this  proposal and any others that seek to take away the right to seek asylum.”

This March marks 21 years of ICE CBP & DHS terrorizing our immigrant communities.

Ever since their creation, ICE and CBP have targeted, detained, abused and deported immigrants while separating loved ones and tearing apart communities. Donate 21 dollars to help us fight back against the 21 years of terror.
